don’t send care packages!

March 3, 2011 § 5 Comments

we were briefed about the astronomical prices imposed on packages sent to costa rica. generally speaking, it’s a process that can include a $100 fee, obtaining a permit, bringing your passport and physically picking up your package at customs. so, if you want to send me something, make sure it’ll fit into a padded envelope. otherwise, send it through someone, wait for me to come home or deliver it yourself!

what you’re saying is that i shouldn’t send that box of bricks care package?

  • priscilla says:

nooo! but you can’t fit bottles of scotch, heidi’s tamales, kai, and a chess set in a padded envelope…

    • amsin says:

so, i was wrong about that. our peace corps staff exaggerated the difficulties of receiving packages. please, do send care packages! but please take note: there’s a higher likelihood that your package won’t be released to me if you send electronics, only peanut butter (for example). . .essentially a package that would suggest i’m trying to sell the items.

  • sette says:

well, kai might fit with some finangling 😉
