things we learned about costa rica

February 28, 2011 § 3 Comments

we had our staging event today. each trainee went around the room and stated a fact they had learned about costa rica.
(in no particular order):

1. the conversion rate for the colon, the currency, is roughly ₡ 498 to $1.00.
2. the largest ethnic group is mestizo (over 95%).
3. over 95% of costa rica’s water supply is potable.
4. the president is female (laura chinchilla).
5. there is no military.

of course, there’s  much more than that. but for now, i sleep.
